About … me? Him?

Evan was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He went to the University of Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. He hasn’t voted since.

Sorry. Back to first-person.

I’m a first-generation Greek-American and my parents own and operate a bar/diner/order-french-toast-and/or-prime-rib-at-8pm sort of establishment. As a result, I treat eating/drinking way too seriously. I speak Greek and Spanish—hola, yasou. Que te den, gamisou. Each has its time and place.

I work out almost every day and enjoy trail running and cycling in particular. Writing, cooking, or just being, I'm always listening to music—90's grunge & hip-hop, 60's rock, psychedelia, and international jazz/funk are some of my favorites (much love KEXP Seattle). The best things I've seen/read/listened to recently (not all necessarily new) are The Beatles: Get Back, The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, The Things They Carried (of course the text, but more recently Bryan Cranston’s audiobook reading), and Ali Siddiq’s most recent stand-up special, The Domino Effect. I love the work of Hirokazu Kore-eda, Scorsese, Alfonso Cuarón, and Studio Ghibli.
